London Fashion Week SS18 – KOKO Couture’s Favourite Runway Styles

Who’s been keeping up with London Fashion Week? We sure have, it’s one of our favourite times of the year. The Spring Summer 2018 season has been giving us so much style inspiration. We seriously want it all! Here’s a quick rundown of our favourite looks. Did any of these make your list? We hope so!

London Fashion Week SS18

JW Anderson SS18

JW Anderson

Saturday’s catwalk featured Northern Irish designer JW Anderson. Flauting one of the freshest collections of the week, the range centred around coordinated two pieces, skirts and tops. From fashion to recycling; the show’s concept was calming and thought-provoking. Outfits represented all aspects of life coming full circle and going back to basics. A theme we are sometimes alien to in the modern world of fashion. The laid-back, casual cool designs are a perfect reminder of this.

Runway: Ralph & Russo SS18

Ralph & Russo

Ruffles are back in fashion, which is great news for us as they made us feel super fabulous and extra in S/S17. We adore this ballgown from Ralph and Russo’s ready to wear line, we bet that silky fabric feels amazing! We wonder if we will see this dress on any celebs next awards season? This dynamic duo are a hot commodity in British fashion and have even been listed on Fortune Magazine’s ’40 under 40′ (in joint place with Mark Zuckerberg whaaat!). 😲

Runway: Versus SS18

Versus (Versace)

Versus, the younger, more wearable line of one of the most prestigious fashion labels of all time. This runway showcased some seriously cool and fun looks that we will totally be recreating. Artistic director Donatella Versace spoke of her collection stating, ‘this is for everyone who dares to express themselves in everything they do”. She went on to explain that the looks are inspired by bravery and pleasure. The catwalk had the edgy grunge vibes of one of our favourite eras, the nineties. It featured the perfect balance of looks that were bold, but that we could also see ourselves wearing. Our favourite piece of the show was this daring mesh dress worn by model of the moment Adwoa Abdoa.

Runway: Dilara Findikoglu SS18

Dilara Findikoglu

Dilara Findikoglu’s punk rock/gothic inspired show combined fashion and theatricality to produce one of the most exciting highlights of London Fashion Week. The up and coming Turkish designer’s bravery paid off as the show, which took place at the altar of a church, was visually stunning, and contained some really cool pieces. We love the powerful red, black, and gold colour scheme of this particular outfit.

Runway: TopShop SS18

Topshop

Topshop proved it can compete with the high fashion labels! Its Sunday night catwalk is one of the most talked about shows of the week. The collection had been inspired by the ‘dazzling’ nightlife in nineties Soho. Fittingly enough, the original 90s party girl, Kate Moss was on the FROW with her daughter Lila. All the clothes were total party season goals but we especially love this super glam and girly dress. A gorgeous baby pink colour, jewels and feathers what more could you want from an outfit!

Runway: Temperley SS18

Temperley

Summer may only just be over, but Temperley’s SS18 collection will leave you longing for more warm weather. Inspired by the south of France, this range had lots of great running trends, including frills, plunging necklines and gorgeous prints. This charming outfit combined all those elements to create a truly stunning look that makes us want to catch the next flight to somewhere sunny!

Runway: Molly Goddard SS18

Molly Goddard

Molly Goddard is a designer best known for doing things a little differently! It’s one of the reasons her shows are some of the most sought after in the fashion world. Goddard’s SS18 show broke the stereotypical catwalk conventions by having models dance, twirl, goof about and even drink (can we have that job please)! A super fun show that felt like a real-life party. We adore this sparkly dress; the coordinated black boots and headband make for a strong and playful look. Perfect for Summer’s evening out.
